Terms and Conditions

Walk of a Lifetime (the “Walk”) is organised by St. Andrew's Autism Centre ("SAAC") in accordance with the following Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”). SAAC includes all corporate entities in the group of parent and sister entities SAAC is a part of. Each person who registers to take part in the Walk is a “Participant”. These T&Cs apply to SAAC the Participant

  1. Purpose
    1. SAAC is a social service agency with a mission of offering lifespan support to persons with autism.
    2. The Walk is organised to support SAAC in its mission and raise awareness of autism.
    3. Registration fees and donations collected from Participants through the Walk will go towards supporting SAAC’s programmes.
    4. These T&Cs are to help avoid any misunderstandings in relation to the Participant’s registration, payment of the registration fee and involvement in the Walk.
  2. Registration
    1. The Participant will complete and submit the registration form on the https://walkofalifetime.sg/ website to take part in the Walk.
    2. By submitting the registration form, the Participant agrees to these T&Cs.
    3. The Participant confirms the information provided in the registration form is accurate and complete. If anything changes or an error needs correction, the Participant will advise SAAX quickly by emailing walkofalifetime@saac.org.sg.
    4. SAAC may choose to disallow the Participant's registration and taking part in the Walk if it suspects the information provided by the Participant is not true and complete.
    5. SAAC is permitted to treat data provided by the Participant as true and complete.
    6. Participants below 18 years of age are required to provide a completed parental or guardian consent form for their registration to be considered complete.
  3. Payments
    1. Participants are obliged to pay the applicable registration fees. A failure to pay, or prove payment, of registration fees will mean a participant may be prevented from taking part in the Walk.
    2. If a Participant cannot take part in the Walk for any reason whatsoever, there will be no refund of any registration fees paid. This includes circumstances where SAAC cancels or delays the Walk, or the Walk is unable to proceed as scheduled because of factors outside of SAAC's reasonable control.
    3. SAAC is not responsible for the performance or failure of any third-party website or service provider involved in the Participant's payment of registration fees.
  4. On the Day
    1. SAAC reserves the right to:
      1. delay the commencement of the Walk or even cancel the Walk in the event of inclement weather.
      2. modify any Walk routes as reasonably necessary for the safety and enjoyment of the Participants.
      3. prevent Participants from taking part in the Walk if they do not commence within 30 minutes of their respective flag-off point time.
    2. SAAC will take reasonable steps to notify the Participant of any decision taken to delay, modify the Walk’s route or cancellation of the Walk.
    3. Pets are not permitted to attend the Walk.
    4. Participants are not permitted to use wheeled devices such as PMD’s, inline or roller skates, shoes with in-built wheels or rollers, prams, push cars or other similar devices during the Walk. Disabled Participants in wheelchairs are permitted.
  5. Safety
    1. SAAC will take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of Participants on the Walk.
    2. If a Participant identifies a risk to their safety or the safety of other Participants, they are asked to advise an SAAC staff member.
    3. The Participant warrants they are physically capable of taking part in the Walk and that their taking part in the Walk does not contravene any medical advice they have received.
    4. The Participant will walk or run on the designated Walk route and follow all traffic regulations and directions from SAAC staff.
    5. SAAC reserves the right to direct a Participant to cease taking part in the Walk to prevent the Participant from causing any injury and/or harm to himself or herself or others.
    6. SAAC does not provide facilities or services to protect or secure the personal property of any Participant.
    7. SAAC will not be liable for any loss or damage to the personal property of a Participant.
    8. SAAC reserves the right to limit or refuse entry (a) if a Participant is in breach of these T&Cs or any other rules SAAC may impose; (b) presents a risk to the safety of other Participant; or (c) for any other reasonable reason.
    9. SAAC may cancel, delay, or reschedule the Walk at its own convenience.
  6. PERSONAL DATA
    1. SAAC collects, stores and processes Personal Data of Participants,
    2. SAAC will comply with all its obligations to protect the Personal Data of Participants as required under the PDPA.
    3. SAAC will only process, use, disclose or export out of Singapore Personal Data: (a) strictly for the purposes of fulfilling its under there T&C's; (b) with the Participant's prior written consent; or (c) when required by law or an order of a Court.
    4. SAAC will use reasonable security arrangements to protect the Personal Data and advise Participants should it become aware it has breached its obligations under the PDPA in relation to their Personal Data.
    5. SAAC will store Personal Data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.
    6. The Participant can request the return or deletion of the Personal Data at walkofalifetime@saac.org.sg. SAAC will fulfil all such requests and confirm the fulfilment of the request in a reasonable timeframe.
    7. SAAC collects Personal Data from Participants through the Walk registration form, the Participant's visits to SAAC websites including associated third-party payment providers, and communications (both electronic and physical) with SAAC and its staff.
  7. Updates
    1. SAAC may modify these T&Cs from time to time by posting an updated version on our official website https://walkofalifetime.sg/
    2. Such changes do not affect the rights and obligations that arose before the updated version but will affect subsequent rights and obligations of SAAC and the Participant.
