Frequently Asked Questions

General
Walk of a Lifetime 2024 will take place on Saturday, 21 September 2024 (Saturday).
Walk of a Lifetime 2024 will be held at St. Andrew's Junior College (starting point) and St. Andrew's Secondary School (ending point).

The Walk of a Lifetime (WOAL), launched in 2023, seeks to be an unique community advocacy platform to promote greater awareness and understanding of autism among the public. In Singapore, there are over 50,000 individuals on the autism spectrum, spanning a wide spectrum from mild to moderate to severe. Some individuals with autism face challenges in achieving full independence and encounter difficulties integrating into mainstream society.

Unique features for Walk of a Lifetime
While most charity walks tend to be one-off events, Walk of a Lifetime aims to go further by bringing autism into the community and welcoming members of the community into the world of autism. At the same time, it is also to raise funds for the various ongoing programmes and services for our beneficiaries and their families.

There are three components to WOAL 2024:

UNDERSTAND: Participate in a learning journey specially curated to help participants experience the world of autism.

ACCEPT: Show your acceptance and support by cheering them quietly and welcoming the beneficiaries and their families in a moving Silent Ovation before joining them in a Dignity and Acceptance Lap around the St Andrew’s Junior College Track and proceeding on to St Andrew’s Secondary School nearby.

EMBRACE: After the walk, join us in exploring opportunities to make a difference. Consider donating, volunteering, partnering, or simply pledging to be more accepting of individuals with autism in your daily life. Help amplify their voices by sharing their stories!
St. Andrew's Autism Centre (SAAC) is Singapore’s only social service agency offering lifespan support to individuals with autism.
